FAQs

What type of injuries and conditions do you treat?

At Natural Bowen Therapy, we treat all forms of soft tissue injury and pain. We focus on the various forms of sport related injuries, as well as back pain, neck pain, headaches & migraine, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, RSI, respiratory problems, hay fever, kidney problems, high blood pressure, arthritis, and knee pain, etc.  Bowen can also be used for stress management, fatigue and sleep problems and associated dysfunctions.

What is your availability?

It is suggested and encouraged that you schedule an appointment a week or more in advance. At times there are same day bookings available. The therapists will often suggest booking a few appointments in advance to ensure a proper therapeutic response in the body. It may have taken years or decades for these problems to develop. It must be appreciated that your process of healing may require a series of treatment sessions.  Three or four treatments are normally all that is needed to treat a condition, but may take longer depending upon length of time of condition, severity etc.  Available 6  days a week from 8:00am - 8:00pm

Do I need to get undressed for my treatment?

A pair of sport shorts and top is fine.  However, if you prefer to remain fully clothed then loose, light-weight clothing is best, i.e. T-shirt, jog-pants.  Natural Bowen Therapy’s policy is that you wear whatever makes you feel the most comfortable.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Our policy at Natural Bowen Therapy is that we ask for at least 24 hrs prior notice of a cancellation, otherwise you will be responsible for the full treatment fee. (See fee schedule.)

Does my extended healthcare cover your treatments?

The majority of extended health care plans cover Bowen Therapy treatments. The answer to this is in your insurance policy.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

There is no requirement to have a referral to see a registered massage therapist. The only requirement might be by your extended health care plan. You need to check with your policy to see if you need one to be reimbursed for the treatments.
